About Abaris

We are the bridge.

Two worlds that rarely speak the same language — public development mandates and private investment capital. We translate between them.

Where Development Finance Meets Deal-Making

Our work spans two worlds that rarely speak the same language. On one side, we advise multilateral institutions, the European Commission, and development finance agencies on how to structure investable pipelines, from the EU’s €300 billion Global Gateway strategy to blended-finance vehicles that absorb first-loss risk and unlock Europe’s pension capital for impact.

On the other side, we work with private enterprises and project developers to make them ready for that capital, whether that means achieving bankability for an infrastructure project in Central Africa, structuring a waste-to-energy venture, or navigating the regulatory landscapes of SFDR, Solvency II, and the EU Taxonomy. We are the bridge.

A Global Portfolio with a Local Footprint

From sustainable building materials and coastal blue-carbon restoration to digital infrastructure and green logistics, our project portfolio stretches across Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific.

Our founder, Baldwin Berges, is a former frontier-markets investor who has spent the last fifteen years embedded in EU development cooperation, leading technical assistance programmes, and building the networks that make cross-border investment possible. At Abaris, we combine the patience of development practice with the urgency of private capital. If you are building something that matters and need the funding architecture to match, we should talk.
